Teusner Albert Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

Description

99 Points – James Halliday | Very Limited Stocks

We’ve been big fans of Teusner Wines over the past decade and believe they’re making some of the most expressive red wines to emerge from the Barossa Valley in a long time. Teusner’s Albert Shiraz is named after Kym Teusner’s Grandfather, Albert Alfred Teusner; a man admired for his commitment and his persistence.

The 2021 Teusner Albert Shiraz is made from parcels of fruit sourced from a couple of Teusner’s favourite vineyards; an old block at Ebenezer in the Barossa’s North and another at the Barossa’s South Eastern most extremity at Williamstown. A wine of incredible fruit purity there‘s plenty of blackberry, black satsuma plum, black cherry and cassis flavours. A innately approachable and elegant rendition of Barossa Shiraz that was recently rated 99 points by James Halliday, our limited remaining stocks will go quickly.

“99 Points. Barossa Valley shiraz doesn’t come much better than this. The vintage was perfect but few nailed the opportunity as well as winemakers Kym Teusner and Javier Moll. The silky elegance and balance are coupled with purity and freshness in a manner seldom seen. $70. 14.5% alc. Drink to 2046.”- James Halliday, Top 100 Wines 2023, The Weekend Australian.
